Just what I needed
Jul 31, 2023These book covers are great. With the price of rebinding continually going up and fewer binderies available, having something to reinforce paperbacks becomes a necessity. I use the 15 mil. rigid covers which give a sturdiness and longevity to softcover books. A video on how to put them on would have been helpful, but I finally figured out what works best for me, and am most satisfied. I use the sizes 8 1/2 x 5 3/4 and the 9 1/2 x 6 1/2 the most and order them in groups of 100. I keep a set of all of the others on hand for books of other sizes (which might apply more to primary school books, or art books). Previously I had been using 2ml. film, and before that, contact paper, but both of those did not have much longevity. And once you catch on to how to put Smart-Covers on, it is really quite quick. Do the back side of the book first with the smaller piece, and then do the front with the soft side wrapping around to the back. It really looks good that way. In the beginning you may want to used clear corner wings to cover areas missed, but you should be able to quickly catch on to covering your book. Having a paper-cutter nearby and a magic marker (to mark non-glossy side)will help you to get a perfect fit for each book.

Jul 11, 2023I was covering our paperbacks with some film that patrons told me was" crinkly" and make noise while they read the books. After ordering the Smart Cover for paperbacks, everyone was happy. They are easier to put on than laminated paper, (although there is a learning curve and a video would be helpful) and give much greater protection than anything else we have used. We 0rder the 15 ml version 100 pair in all sizes, so we are ready for any book to be covered. They really reinforce the paperback cover and make it very sturdy. It is all I use now. I highly recommend this product!
