The First Thing About You

The First Thing About You follows fifteen-year-old Harris, a high school student with spinal muscular atrophy, as he navigates life in a new town. After moving from California to New Jersey, Harris is determined to reinvent himself and be seen as more than just a kid in a powered wheelchair. He uses the quirky question, "What's your favorite color?" as a way to categorize potential friends, aligning with those who are outgoing, adventurous, or thrilling. Harris also needs to find a new nurse, which leads him to Miranda, a confident nursing student who becomes a significant part of his life.

As Harris builds new friendships, including with Zander, a geeky but loyal friend, and makes progress with Nory, a cute girl he's interested in, he begins to realize that Miranda may not be as perfect as he initially thought.
